You’ve maybe experienced this before; have you tried to shift from park into reverse, only to feel your transmission delay before taking you backwards more aggressively than it normally would? That’s no accident; it’s a sign that your transmission system likely needs some repairs as soon as possible.
Your System is Leaking Transmission Fluid
If you’re about to get into your car in the morning and notice a translucent, reddish liquid streaking from underneath it, we’ve got some bad news; that’s your transmission fluid. Since it’s more useful inside your transmission system, you should get it checked out right away! Also, a key rule of thumb is to be replacing your fluid anywhere between 30,000 to 60,000 miles.
