If you are looking for a do-it-yourself way, then you just need some cardboard or a towel. You just need to take a towel or piece of cardboard large enough to cover your windshield and secure it over the windshield for the night. In the morning, just peel the towel or cardboard off and you shouldn’t have as much ice to deal with anymore.

There are also some at-home sprays or oils you can use to cover your windshield. Some people use half of an onion to coat their windows. Vinegar or rubbing alcohol mixed with water can also be applied to your windshield overnight. These solutions can help give your windshield a bit of protection from the frost.
