How do I get snow and ice off my windshield?

Materials needed to clear off your windshield and windows in winter

If you’ve spent any amount of time in a wintry area, you know the hassle that comes with a morning freeze-over. You’re all ready to start your day and head out on the road, but when you get inside, the view out of your windshield is blurry and icy. This can be annoying, but there are a couple of cool methods you can use to make it safer to drive. Today we’ll show you some key materials needed to clear off your windshield and windows in winter. Be safe!

Washer Fluid and New Wiper Blades

Though it’s not something many would think of, your washer fluid is able to tear through ice quite easily! Of course, to fully clear off your windshield you’ll need a fresh new pair of wiper blades, as harsh winter weather can cause your current ones to crack or stick to your windshield, greatly reducing the performance you’ll see.

Ice Scraper and Brush

For most drivers, the tried and true method to clear off your windshield is by using a scraper and the brush attached to it. Though this can often be time consuming, it’s a cheap and easy way to get ready for the day with some energy to boot.

Defroster and Warm Engine

If you’ve got some time to spare, your engine’s defroster should do the trick quite nicely for clearing off your windshield. In addition, if you’ve ever noticed a foggy-like substance building up on the inside of your vehicle, it can help to clear out the humidity that’s causing such. In any case, you should be all good to go within minutes!
